Do I need an attorney?

            If you are not sure whether you need an attorney for a particular problem, call our office at (608) 244-9494 for a free initial consultation with one of our attorneys. We can arrange a meeting with one of our attorneys to assist you. If we cannot provide services for you, we will refer you to other qualified attorneys.

How much will it cost?

The cost of our help depends on the type of services you require. Before we begin work on your case, we will discuss with you the types of legal remedies and alternatives available to you and the estimated fees and costs involved in pursuing them.

 

We will provide you with a copy of your signed Fee Agreement, setting forth the basis on which the fees will be based and it’s cost to you. Most work is undertaken on an hourly basis, where the fees are based on the time actually spent on your file.

 

You will be billed monthly. In some cases, groups and organizations pay all or part of our fees and costs for their members. If you do not belong to that type of group, you are responsible for payment of all fees and costs. Payment of a retainer (an advance deposit of fees) will be required before any work is done on your case, and your lawyer will tell you in advance when the balance will be due.

 

As the work progresses, if there are unexpected developments or complications which necessitate a longer time to complete your work or greater expense than originally anticipated, we will inform you as soon as we recognize that fact.
